Microbial Removal of Pb(II) Using an Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) Reactor

چکیده

The main objective of this study was to achieve the continuous biorecovery and bioreduction Pb(II) using an industrially obtained consortia as a biocatalyst. An upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor used in treatment process. bioremediation technique that applied made use yeast extract microbial substrate Pb(NO3)2 source Pb(II). UASB exhibited removal efficiencies between 90 100% for inlet Pb concentrations from 80 2000 ppm maximum rate 1948.4 mg/(L·d) measured. XRD XPS analyses precipitate revealed presence Pb0, PbO, PbS PbSO4. Supporting experimental work carried out included growth measurements, pH, oxidation–reduction potentials nitrate levels.
